Hi there John,
Greetings from another E-Type obsessed Scot, albeit in antipodeal exile for some 32 years now.....! Fantastic photograph, I must say, obviously wasn't taken in the last moth or two, I hear the weather has been a tad inclement of late, and driving an E-type with snow chains on just doesn't cut the (social....) ice, does it....(pun intended....) Down here we are struggling under a blue sky and 28 - 35degC, it's hard to take, but someone has to do it.............Your post really struck an evocative chord with me, I bought my first E-Type in 1969 (a series II FHC)in Glasgow at the tender age of 25 (Kelvin Hall Motor Show of November 1969....) There goes my age (!!) more money than sense after a very remunerative 3-year contract as an engineer in Africa, plus an obsession to own one.... Hard to believe it was a tad over GBP 2,000, then, about what I need now to get a Suffolk and Turley interior trim kit, now, for the 1967 Series I that I am now restoring. I sold the Series II FHC in Zimbabwe (then Rhodesia.....) for twice what I paid for it, and have regretted that ever since.....Such is life (famous Australian character quote........)
Anyway, please excuse this tautological dissertation, and welcome to the Club/Forum, I can assure you there is much wisdom available from the members.....
Best regards,
a "choochter" in exile (Hebridean...)
Norman
