#1 Unidentified switch

Post by meeka » Fri Feb 24, 2012 7:22 pm

I'd be grateful if someone could help me identify the function of the switch to the left of the brake warning light. I suspect "Hazard Light" but currently it is dormant.

Thanks

Graham

I agree; it doesn't look factory to me. One possibility is that it is wired to the radiator fan(s) as an override. The little red light next to it looks the same as the choke light on my car which has series 2 dash, albeit in the wrong place.

Thanks to you both. I suspect you are correct, now that I have a closer look - so time to start tracing.

I've seen a similar switch (rotary) which varies the speed of the wiper motor.

Thanks, Bob.

I'm out of the country at present, but will check that option when I return.

Cheers, Graham

Graham my money is on fan override. The red indicator light telling you the fan is running.

Either way, let us know.
