#1 A S1 traveling in France

Post by Patrick NICOLAS » Thu May 23, 2013 8:46 pm

Hello everyone.

Thank you for accepting me in this forum. I live in France, near Lyon. Since my youth (I'm 65), I'm a fan of British cars and motorcycles. My first E Type was a S2 FHC 2+2 that I had imported from Florida. I spent a lot of time to make a car that runs satisfactorily. But it was a good experience.
Ten years ago, I left it for a 1964 FHC. This car was first sold in France and has never been restored. This is a fantastic car that gives me a lot of pleasure. Last year I overhauled the IRS. This year, I decided to overhaul the engine. The operation is almost complete. As usual, I do the job by myself. However, I lost a lot of time with approximate remanufacturing parts.
Anyway, my E Type will be back on the road for the summer.
Kind Regards

Patrick

Hi Patrick. Welcome to the Forum! We have several active members in France so perhaps you can put your E-Type 'on the map': http://etypeuk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1810

Let us know how you get on with the engine and post some pictures.

Thanks John and David.
That's right, I have a lot of pages to read because there are many skilled and experienced people on this forum. I don't know why I didn't discoverd it before.
Yes, I will first put a flag on the map for my car. And then I will prepare a short topic about my experience on the engine. That will be my first modest contribution.

Kind Regards
Patrick

Thank you Emmanuel.
Yes, I know. This site is very well done.
Is this your site?
I finished refurbishing my engine at the beginning of the summer. I had some problems with the cylinder head due to an error from the guy who restored it. But now everything is perfect. The engine now has 500 kilometers. I'll make a little topic about this work.
Regards.
Patrick
