Helping my father with his car

Hello-

My father bought a 1971 V-12, 2+2. Had Stew Jones of Connecticut USA dial in the engine and suspension and swap in a 5-speed. It runs smooth and strong. Now he wants to do the interior. Any info would be great!

Hi Welcom to the forum...whats your name......two options for the interior...buy a kit from one of the usual trimmers....Aldridge, Skinners, BAS etc and fit it yourself........or have one of the trimmers fit it....down to how much work you want to do your self and your ability....there is a lot of interior in a 2+2.....just done mine using trim from Aldridge

There is a third option which is to purchase the materials to retrim, coloured hides, sheets of vinyl etc and do it all yourself.

Hi thanks for the replies. We met with an auto upholstery guy, but discovered he doesn't do the rubber door seals, just upholstery. I think our plan will be get a complete interior kit and have a full service autobody guy put it together. But I'm not sure how well interior kits fit, who has the best leather or trim pieces, and what else I should expect will need to be done. For example, should I get other seat parts like the reclining mechanism?

I don't want the car out of commission for 6 months while we discover we need to order more stuff before we cover it up.
