Paul,
You can get battery isolators that incorporate a fused wire to allow a small voltage through to retain radio pre-sets. If anything tries to draw more voltage (a short or attempting to hot-wire) the fuse blows.
It will still drain the battery, but won’t be a problem unless you aren’t using it for extended periods. I which case, a trickle charger/conditioner should be used.

Hi Richard,

I do have a dis-car-nect type battery isolation switch, but it is not fused.

I may well fit a fuse now that you have mentioned it.

This was the device I was thinking of.

I have a hidden Bluetooth receiver/amp so I get my music direct from my IPhone - including radio. That way I don’t need an aerial or have to worry about re-setting stations!

I also hid two extra speakers in the ‘b’ post pocket voids, with chrome mesh to compliment the console speakers. The unit is small so allowed deeper speakers in the console. I needed a extra module as I’m still +ve Earth but I managed to make a tray to hold it all inside the radio console.

I like that Richard, very neat. I might just do something similar in mine. Do you have details, although mine will be Android?

Stuart
