I was really looking to go but I have to fly to Russia that morning so no can do. :(

I guess it will have to be the club do in July before I get to show off. I'm really itching to look at other cars to see what's wrong with mine. A few rattles here and there but a fair number of cosmetic things to do. What's clear is it's pretty much original and not restored at all, despite what it claims on XKEdata. It still has original cable clips, stickers, etc under the bonnet

For those still interested in me wittering on, here's my my update after two months of ownership.

Still running ok, but definately needs some tlc. Attended the Barnet classic car rally last week with 29 other cars. Glorious sunshine and lots of attention given to the cars. Everyone smiles when they see the car and I haven't had so much fun driving in a long time. My boys do their studying now as I promise the first to finish gets picked up from school.

There was another E-type at the car rally, a yellow V12. One of the organisers says he has another E, and he thinks it's a lightweight!

Signed up for Cromer to Maldon on the September run, look forward to meeting fellow owners there hopefully.
