Sorry to hear your news - all too often these days it seems. I'm sure we'll all keep our eyes open. Is your car on the XK database? Might be worth putting it on if not. Some people consult it before making a purchase. Here's a link:

So sorry to read of your loss...Probably not relevant but the number rang a bell....I saw this very car in the Hemel Hempstead area...my patch.. back in Sept....I was in the crappy van....were you followed back to home? Not me....honest...

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=11364&p=91912&hilit=OBV+672H#p91912

As I dare say the police have said...this was probably not an opportunist theft but would have been planned......I was a victim three years back but mine was recovered....

Things the police asked me...

Who have you visited (excluding family and friends) recently in the car....so businesses, shows etc?
Have you bought or sold anything on eBay in the last six months that relate to e types?
Have you been followed while in the car?....I know...hard to know but I am now very wary...

Someone would have known where the car was and would probably have been watching for an opportunity.

Mine was found at The Hall Farm. Tillingham, Essex CM0 7ST....known to the police....who knows...maybe yours is there....unlikely but I'd give the address to the police...

The tax is probably not high on the original posters priority list now  .
The car is probably stashed away out of site and will most likely be shipped out of the country to Eastern Europe or Russia etc. within the week....worth monitoring eBay etc just in case it does pop up but I would not be optimistic...I am still keeping an eye out for someone flogging my spare wheel....I never got it back....but as it was "professional" thieves they won't try and sell it in the UK....too risky.......solution is a tracker so the scum get caught red handed and locked up....
