Hey y'all,

I've been lurking here for a while but decided to introduce myself. I'm in Austin, TX and I've owned my French-Delivery Oct '65 FHC for about 11 years now. I bought it about a month after I graduated college from a professor of mine, and have been repairing/driving it pretty much ever since.

My poor car has had a Ford 289, a Pinto 2.3 Turbo, and was slated for a Doble steam engine, but luckily the PO kept the original engine in a shed with oil. When I bought the car, I changed the oil, replaced the wiring harnesses, and fired it right up. Several thousand miles later it still runs like a top!

There are lots of parts on my car which are missing or replaced with non-factory parts, and I'm slowly repairing/replacing them as they break or I get fed up with looking at them. Needs lots of work, but I like driving it too much to restore!

Welcome to the forum, I presume your name is Mike. It seems strange how people wish to change engines in an E Type for there's nothing wrong with the trusty XK 6 cylinder engine. So glad to hear you've got it back in place.
This forum is very friendly and helpful so please feel at ease to ask any questions you have and to keep us up to date with any work you do. There are people in the US who use the JCNA website as a source of information but you'll find it difficult to beat what's on here. They will help you with local/US information and suppliers.

Tell us more about your car and the work you've done and you are planning. You'll get good guidance about how to tackle work.

Good luck

Geoff

Yes, my car was delivered new in Paris in October, 1965 to "Mr. Anderson". Not sure if that's Monsieur Anderson or Mister Anderson, but that's what was on the JDHT Heritage Certificate. As such it has the import tag on the firewall and the Anchor markings on the picture frame, as well as the Speedometer being in Kilometers/hr and having an 8:1 compression engine.

Thanks to everyone for the welcome,
Mike
