Hi,
I am very pleased to be joining the forum.
I have just bought an e-type series I 4.2 FHC.
I am in that nervous in-between state, waiting for the vehicle to arrive.
Excited but nervous. What have I done!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am having the e-type trailered down to me in Devon next Wednesday.
Will supply more details then.
I will be coming to the forum to get plenty of help in the future.
If there are any contacts or areas of expertise in the south devon area I would be pleased to hear from them.
I am retired and hope not to have to get into too much heavy engineering.
Good luck to Tony in your search.
Cheers,
Nick.

One person worth seeking out in your area is Jim Rothwell of Rothwell Engineering. Huge collection of cars/parts and very knowledgeable. His contact details are in the Library.

Thanks David for the info. Rothwell has a code of std code of 01503.
Where is that, I don't recognise the code?
Thanks Clive for sorting my name out.
Just got the e-type insured with Heritage/Chaucer.

On the subject of stopping someone from making of with my new toy (when it comes, counting the days) is it worth using a device I have seen on the web called Discarnect Immobiliser/battery master switch?

Nick,

Thanks, you are 2 steps ahead of me. The waiting must be unbearable. Good luck with the car. Have you got any plans for it during the winter.?

My car is nearly here, 4 days to go.
I will need some manuals.
Is the Jaguar E-Type Series I Parts Catalogue on Amazon for ?28.45 a good buy?

Both the Jaguar parts and service manual's are pretty essential reading (the former more than the latter I find) and they range in price from about ?30 each for the excellent repro or ?50 if you want original ring bound copies.
