Hi - I've just joined having been positively encouraged by Philip Welch in York. I own a series 2 roadster which was imported from the states back in 1980. Never been restored and remains largely original apart from conversion to right hand drive.

Planning on a series of upgrades, starting with gearbox (maybe O/D) or diff to give it longer legs, possibly power steering and finally three SU's.

Looking for help and advice from those who have been through the pain!!! I assume there will be posts relating to these upgrades so will start there but in the meantime if anyone has any experience of overdrive fitment Id appreciate some advice.

Hello Brett, welcome to the forum where you'll get lots of help and advice. Please add your name and car to the signature area then people will immediately know how to address you and which model you have to give the correct answer.
You won't be able to fit an overdrive as they can only be fitted to the longer wheelbase 2+2 cars.
The diff can be changed to either 3.07 or even 2.88 (from your 3.54?), search for Alan Slawson on here for the man to ask.
Triple SUs can be bought from Burlen, not cheap.
Get to the Jaguar Spares Day at Stoneleigh on 31st March to look for items
