Hi all, just driven an S3 open top into my garage...smug smile!
Some work to do but essentially good. It joins a stable of various manufacturers, and sits proudly amongst them.
Wandering my way through a restoration of a Phantom 3, now given myself even more reasons to stay in the garage with midnight oil.
Will be asking lots of ?s as I get to them.
Cherrs
Pete.

Hi,
Just to give a profile of the car.
S3 Fuel injected V12, manual 3 with O/D, larger cooling tank, 2:88 diff, outboard rear disks with associated mods, larger ventilated front disks, slightly modified exhaust system, 2 H P fuel pumps spare operated by switch in car, security battery isolator, non std ignition pack, factory H/T with pin locks to upper catches, steel wheels ala xj6 etc.
All finished in azure blue. Black hood.
All of this stuff was done by previous owner
Peter Mitchell OBE.
I have made a significant change to its nocturnal habit by fitting led headlamp conversion...A+!!!
It needs little bodywork details but nothing serious.

I am thinking of changing the G/B to auto as my wife and to some degree I suffer from joint disease and it would simply be easier to drive. I have canvassed opinion locally and several people have suggested a 4HP24 as a good box....any opinions?

P3 engine going together at present.....pic as it was....and will be.....

If anyone would like to see an article about the Peter Mitchell mods ...let me know and I'll send a copy via email or PM whatever.
Currently making up a new seat base mounting point to move the seat back two inches ...anyone like to chip in with thoughts?
