I have an October 1969 E Type Series 2 2+2 automatic which we have owned since 1976 and to “celebrate” its 50th birthday I decided to blow the pension on a very expensive refurb. To reduce costs I elected to do a lot of work myself, IRS rebuilt, all engine ancillaries rebuilt, front suspension rebuilt, and internals, new glass and wiring etc. I have done myself. The bodywork and paintwork and engine rebuild has been completed by specialists and all this has cleared my bank account quite efficiently! I hope to get everything finished before next years 60th celebrations since we have taken the car to various 30th, 40th. And 50th events.
My current problem is part number C25804 - the short accelerator control rod that links the lever on the front slave shaft with the kick down relay shaft. my restorer sadly has mislaid my original part. I have fabricated what looks to be a suitable replacement but I have had to guess at the length. Ideally I would hope someone in the forum with an auto might be able to measure theirs to confirm the length??
