Does anyone know the difference between a Lucas DL3 to DL3A wiper motor.

Yes. The DL3 has six wires and uses the park switch on the bulkhead. The DL3A was used briefly on LHD S1.5 cars and uses three wires with the park switch on the motor gear housing. A far better system IMHO and you can use the DL3A on the earlier cars to good effect, especially if the switch on the wiper assembly is buggered. It was introduced because of supply problems with the complicated rocker switch.

Thanks for that David . But can you use for a RHD S 1 possibly with mods . I have recently converted a car to single wiper so I know a little about the motors . Bryan

Easy to do with the motor in situ. Release the locking screws and rotate the paxolin switch carrier plate 180 degrees and fine adjust as necessary:

I have one on my S1 RHD OTS as the rack switch fell apart and I did not fancy dismantling the car to get at it!
