#1 Knowledge in exchange for help

Post by damawe63 » Fri Nov 18, 2011 1:00 pm

Hi from a relatively new car-less member,

I'm hoping to start looking for a S1-S2 FHC in the new year and am interested in learning more about these cars, in particular specifics on what to look for when viewing one. I've read most of the advice on-line and bought the usual books that get quoted.

Are there any owners in the Portsmouth (or local-ish) area who'd be willing to talk to me / show me their cars with a view to broadening my knowledge of them?

I'm also keen to learn about maintenance on these cars and so would be willing to help out with any general maintenance thats easier with 2 people.

If so, please let me know, thanks.....

regards, dave

Welcome to the Forum! Take a look at our Knowledge Base http://etypeuk.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=16 as it contains a wealth of information and, if you have not already done so, arm yourself with a copy of Pete Crespin's '3.8 and 4.2 Essential Buyer's Guide' not least because he posts here frequently and is a mine of help and information.

Hi Dave and welcome
The 'Factory Original Jaguar E Type' is a new book just out, and is a great book to quicky identify the differences between the different models. Lots and lots of pictures, just what blokes need!

An ideal Christmas present for your misses!!

The Clausager book is excellent but don't buy it from Herridge & Sons (publishers)as they are selling it for 30 ? (offer made to various Jag clubs at this price)
