Hello!

Having only recently acquired my first ever Jaguar I decided to make it an E Type. Following the purchase of my first classic car a couple of years ago, which I completed a nut and bolt restoration on during lock down, I subsequently tried to sell the investment benefits to my wife..... Sadly her list of essential requirements don't match mine when it comes to motoring and hence I was provided with her requirement spec for my second classic. This led me to a search which initially narrowed down to an XK 150 FHC. However, after a test drive I was not convinced by that particular car's driving position. I also flirted with MK2's, 240's and Daimlers, before finally settling on an E Type, which came about after my wife made a comment of "oooh I quite like that one" as she exited a restaurant....
So following my usual process of researching, I had settled on a S2 FHC as the preferred option and here we are with a 1971, matching numbers signal red example, which as you can see fits in well with the MG

Needs new tyres, but otherwise is running well and looking lovely. With no restoration work needed I will be off to enjoy the open roads, including a trip to southern Italy next year, which was the other element of the spec that the wife provided ;-)

Hi and welcome.
Great looking set of motors. Look forward to hearing how you get on with the E.

Nice set of motors Paul. I've a;ways fancied having both the A and the 7 but I don't really have space, though I have recently bought an MX-5 'cos I wanted a drophead sports car of some sort and it was really inexpensive.

Good question. He normally sits under the car port, but is currently earning his keep out on the field under a tarpaulin whilst I cut the hay. Suffering with a bit of overheating at the moment and can see a need to do some major maintenance in the near future.

Here he is with a Caterham face lift :-)
