Hello everyone,
Frenchie, Brittany region, I have an XKE 4.2 from 1969. For some time my brakes have been sticking hot for a short time. I noticed while browsing the forum that this is a broad topic. So I will go through all the posts dealing with the subject to try to find a solution to my problem. Thank you for all these topics covered here

Regarding the brakes of the 1969 XKE the translation is incomplete. No overheating of the front brakes. When I release the brake pedal, the brakes do not immediately release. I see a lot of identical issues on the forum. I continue my investigations. Good day

If there is no overheating of the front brakes but the rears are sticking on, then the likely cause is that the rubber hose between the body and the rear suspension unit has collapsed internally . The effect of this is that the hose operates as a one-way valve, allowing pressure to be applied to the rear cylinders , but preventing it being released

Hello Christopher, and thanks for the analysis. I have already bought the replacement hose from Baratt. I'll replace that. What do you think of the Fosseway kit to more easily bleed the rear brakes?christopher storey wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 10:03 amIf there is no overheating of the front brakes but the rears are sticking on, then the likely cause is that the rubber hose between the body and the rear suspension unit has collapsed internally .
