Now playing catch-up discovering what’s correct, what’s not and what’s missing.

Hi Trevor welcom to the forum....as mentioned above if you post lots of photos you will be told whats right/wrong but you need a thick skin if you go this route as you may well be very dissapointed.......but if you want to know then its the best route........all the best.....Steve

Hi TGN, very similar approach to me then, after a recent purchase of a 64fhc. I have looked thru numerous youtube videos showing very original barnfinds and low mileage original cars to look at the fine details, and this is helping my understanding a lot. There’s a chap called Richard Michael Owen who does some very informative videos, although he’s Canadian so the cars are lhd and therefore have some different details.
I think you’ll need to decide how much originality you’re chasing. Are you wanting a good driver’s car with as much retained originality as realistically compatible with reliability etc, or a concours/show example where the judge will want to see that the correct bolts have been used!
A general view seems to be that modern aftermarket parts are generally a lower quality and it’s better to retain/repair as much original stuff as possible.

I won’t be disappointed.
I’m well aware it’s a shed. It’ll always be a driver while I have it.
Mechanically it’s quite good. Interior needs doing, hence my need for the bulkhead panel.

Trevor, do you plan to re-trim the car yourself or send it away? BAS are good for supplying trim as are Aldridge (and others can be named by happy customers), both will also do the work for you. You’ll pay for a lot of man hours but far fewer hours than you will need to do it yourself. Well worth making sure any trimmer is familiar with an E Type and their material comes from a good supplier who have all the panels accurately produced.
Another thing to consider is improving insulation as the car can become hot. Dynomat and dynoliner are liked by quite a few on here.
