Good Evening, just like to introduce myself, my Name is Bruce , I’ve just joined this forum , I’ve owned a 3.8 F.H.C since 1985 , I had it on the road for a year after I bought it , then it was put away in my garage where it has been ever since , it’s time now to get it back on the road , so I’m sure I will have lots of questions to ask you clever people 😊

Hi Bruce and welcome.
Good to see another 3.8 fhc about to get back on the road. You are in the best place to get the answers you may need. Do you have any pics?

There will be lots of questions indeed!

But it's simple really: disassemble everything, renew/rebuild everything that needs renewed or rebuilt, then reassemble and drive!

Seriously though, I did mine by system (fuel, brakes, cooling, electrical, engine, etc) over many years, and by doing it in discreet chunks it was never off the road for more 6 months at a time. But then it was more or less drivable (though not safely) when purchased. So if the body on your car is serviceable, a 'rolling refurbishment' is very doable. If the body has any real rust, well, you will get much advice, none of which is likely to make you happy.
