The 'E' Type Forum

Hi all...not new but for various reasons took a break from the forum. However not from the E...it went off the road in Feb for the long promised engine rebuild and is probably a week away from running once more....now with a result engine and gear box...and a working overdrive...not a.trivial project but the result should be good!

Engine is re built...and the gear box and overdrive! Installed...been 're fitting the ancillary engine bits...almost done. Then the dash and gunner to go in and bingo. It will be a S1 with a working overdrive box!

I think a lot of peeps will be interested to see how a box and overdrive get squeezed into a short wheelbase car.

Yes Julian did say quite a while ago that he would post that info when he had the engine out for refurb ...Steve

I have pictures from below! I will have pictures from above shortly. I'll then start a thread and work out how to post them...May be a couple of weeks yet as I'm away next week and want to get the car up and running first but watch this space....

Just in case folk think this will be a dead thread..I was On hols last week and the garage are on hols this week...I'm hoping to get the E back sometime next week...I will post an update and if I can figure out how...photos of the car with an overdrive box...and report back On the driving experience!
