Hi, this is Klaus from Germany, who is about to buy an E-type series 1.5 or series 2. The market in Germany is rather difficult at the moment. Very good vehicles are very expensive, the reasonably affordable ones are usually poor. But I'm not giving up and look forward to lots of help and tips from experienced E-type owners. Best regards, Klaus

Welcome aboard, Klaus. When you find the right car, I recommend that you post details and plenty of photos here so the experts here can chime in on any problems that they see and give you advice on whether to go ahead and make the purchase. It will help avoid unseen headaches and expense. Once you do find your car, you will be in for a wonderful experience!

Welcome, hope you find something suitable soon to post on here for the best advice. I have noticed that in western Europe e types hold their values well and that restored examples rarely go under the 200 Euro mark and some originals over 300, bonkers.

Maybe it would be worth looking at any LHD cars being sold in the UK?

Hi, and thanks for the tips. Is there a section here in the forum where I can present potential candidates for a purchase to hear your opinion? I already have a potential candidate...

Welcome, Klaus. Look at as many cars as you can, in person. (Unless of course you are well familiar with E-Types.) There is a small book from Peter Crespin about buying an E-Type, which I found to be quite helpful. Good luck on your E-Type journey, enjoy!

Klaus,
I was at Shelsley Walsh hill climb (The Lucas Classic run by SNGB) last weekend, and there was a S1.5 FHC for sale at about £95k. It may have been a left hand drive. It was not marketed by SNGB but if you contact them, if you are interested, they may be able to guide you.
