#1 Inherited Headaches

Hi All,
My name is Brian and I am new to the forum and to building E Types. I build other cars and have unfortunately inherited the completion of this E type, she is a 1961 series 1 and my Brother in Law who bought her from a Swedish car enthusiast stripped her down completely, re sprayed her then passed away and I have now been tasked with building her back up, but I have no notes or diagrams, just loads of parts and nuts and bolts.
My first of many problems is the clutch, the gearbox is ready to be mated to the engine, but it was never marked coming off, so I was wondering does the clutch bell housing have an orientation? I know the flywheel does and thankfully to a few videos on YouTube, I found the bottom mark on the flywheel and how to get the engine top dead centre for bolting on the flywheel, but I am unsure it the bell housing can just be fitted on, there are 3 pins, so I have a 33% chance of it being correct, but I am unsure and thought I would ask the experts before I go installing it any old orientation. I have the alignment tool for the clutch plate, so just checking before I bolt everything together.
many thanks in advance for any info you can give me
Brian
