A belated hello!

I’m the proud owner of a Series 2 FHC. Always wanted one and finally realised the dream 12 months ago after serving my apprenticeship on Mini 1275GT, Ford Escort Mk2, Triumph GT6, Lotus Europa Series 2 and a few more moderns such as Honda S2000 and MGTF.

I’m a retired engineer having worked in heavy vehicle design and development for over 35 years across multiple countries. Love all things cars from building, restoring and driving them!

Looking forward to being part of the group!

Hello again Steve,

Thanks.

I have to say that there’s a mine of information, from which I’ve already gleaned much knowledge. It’s certainly one of the better car forums.

Cheers,

Nick.

Well done! Lovely looking car - but then I'm biased because it looks very similar to my own  You're going to have a lot of fun.

Good to see that you've arrived here via a Lotus Europa too. I ran a yellow Special back in the Eighties and currently have my eye on a JPS car as a restoration project to add to the fleet. Fabulous cars and deserving of much wider recognition/appreciation.

Cheers!

Simon

Hi Simon,

It seems we have identical taste! I only moved on from my Europa due to garage space. I've got a double garage but one a workshop full of lathes, millers and drills...the other is for the E Type.

The E Type was my must have car, and it took until I was 61 to get it. However, two cars I wished I'd kept too...my Honda S2000...docile around town and utterly mad above 6000rpm. The other of course is a Lotus Europa. My series 2 was a "Gordini" spec 1565. Performance similar to the JPS Special. Ride and handling the best of any car I've ever had. The handling of my MGTF is fantastic, but it rides like a brick. The Europa combined the best of both worlds.

I hope you get your JPS. :wavegreatbritain: :wavegreatbritain:

Thanks Nick

If I can get the JPS, then I'll be well on my way to forming a Boston tribute band:

I've already got a bicycle, so it's then just a motorbike and one of those funny little German cars to go

Others may disagree, but I think I look rather like the guy with the 'fro and the shades in the middle....

:wow: Am I allowed to disagree? Or was this what you looked like a year or two before I met you?

Had a chuckle at the Boston tribute reference, great photo! That JPS Europa sounds like a brilliant project if you manage to land it. I've always thought they had such a purposeful stance, and the black-and-gold livery is hard to beat. Seems like quite a few Europa fans around here, which is great to see. Looking forward to following your progress if the restoration goes ahead!
