Hello waiting for my E to arrive in Sydney....

Just introducing myself...I live in sunny (95 degrees today) Sydney Australia. My father bought a 1970 S2 2+2 in 1971 and had it for 4 years (anyone seen DAB 26H anywhere????). I have wonderful memories of the car as a small boy in Buckinghamshire and have always wanted an E but finances and space always precluded it. E types are pretty rare in Australia and quite pricey. However, the soaring Aussie Dollar has made it practical to import one and my 1969 S2 coupe will soon be on the boat heading to its new life in Sydney. Like many I wanted an S1 4.2 but in the end I could not really justify the considerable extra money over an S2.

Car is not perfect but very nice - a good useable driver with (I hope :D ) no major body or mechanical issues. I am pretty handy mechanically (my other vehicles are classic bikes - a 1974 Ducati and a 1977 Moto Guzzi, on which I do much of the work) and I look forward to performing regular servicing on the E myself.

Any other forum members from Sydney on here?????
