#1 Seat runners

I have just had my seat runners re-plated and the platers have cut the wire which joins the two seat adjustment mechanisms together. Does anyone know where I can get replacement wire to repair them? I have heard that TIG welding wire would be suitable as it doesn't stretch - is that right?
