Greetings from San Francisco, I'm the new care-giver for a 69 e-type, red w/ black interior....the owner has asked if I will look after the car since he wants to keep it in California. Uh, yeah, I could do that!! :-)
It has been mostly restored, and has some sorting out to do. First issue on the list is to get all the gauges working again....they worked last time I fired her up, but not today. sigh, only electrical? piece of cake....
secondly, while driving down the road today the car made 3 quick backfires, very loud, and then stopped running. I flipped the ignition off and on again and she fired right up, but has left that nagging 'when will it happen again' feeling in my gut. any thoughts?
previous owner fitted some creative series III ignition switch and so it is possible there is some error lurking....
