Hello,

After 15 posts I feel justified in introducing myself because today my project car's V5C has finally arrived! I bought an early 4.2 FHC a year past in April; without a log book. It has been an eye opening exercise to get its documentation reinstated but it is here now. With the help of this most informative forum I look forward to really letting the fun begin!

Regards,
Jim Stewart

Hello Jim,

Welcome to the Forum. It is nice to see you have used your proper name and not some form of code name. It makes communication a bit more personal.

I presume your car is not on the road so far, so I will have to read your passed threads to see what stage you are at.

Roll on Spring.

Regards

Tony

Hi Tony,

Thank you. To save you the search, the car is currently a collection of bits. Stripped to a rolling shell and having its floors & outer sills replaced. I am under no illusions that this will be anything other than a long haul yet! The car left Browns Lane in November 1964. I would like to have it back on the road for its 50th birthday.

It can be seen here:

which reminds me, I'd better update that page...

Regards,
Jim

Good luck with the project, are you doing the work in Scotland?

Hi John,

Thanks. I plan to do the initial work with my brother's help at his place south of the border.

Have spotted 3 etypes "in the wild" this year in Scotland, more at car shows.

My 69 car is in for paint and some panel realignment at a guy in the Borders I rate very highly, maybe of interest if you end up looking for someone for bodywork, the painter has a S3 roadster project of his own.

Another painter near Dalkeith I am friendly with has a White 61 roadster in for paint just now, very nice!
