Hi all.
After wanting one for 40 years, my dad (and I) just imported this from Michigan.



The car was bought from Paul Gentilozzi of Jaguar racing fame in the States.

It looks and feels quite allright, bus as its an English car rebuilt in the States, there obviously are som niggles.

We're not strange to English cars though. This is my personal line up:



I've personally raced a Mini at Brands Hatch so very used to England and sorts.



I know that I WILL need some help to maintain this beast, so bear with me please :)

We fetched it at the ports on friday, so it's all quite new to us.

Plans are:

-Sort the running. Is stutters and splurts through the rev range. Points?
-Get the throttle linkage sorted. It just reaches 70% of butterfly opening.
-Door handle on passanger door is strange
-The RHD door sags like a rotten cucumber, I guess a new hinge is needed.
-The Speedo stopped working.
-The handbrake light is constantly lit.

I'd like to fit one of those German headlamp cover kits and 3 SUs as this is the version with twin Strombergs.
Maybe a 123 dizzy or possibly this:

I know that I have viewed a very old post but your problem then is one that troubles me currently.
My handbrake light is constantly on, the switch is ok and there are no loose wires in the dash.
What turned out to be your solution. Any comments welcome.

Hi Peter...what model do you have...please try to put it in the signature area with your name.....do you realise that the brake warning lamp is common with the brake fluid sender...Steve

Have V12 HE efi that's part of the problem, currently no connection to brake reservoir. Never has been!! Plan is to incorporate to make std.
Light was working ok until recently. So really stumped.

Having recently had the same issue, I investigated, starting with the switch next to the handbrake and found the small blade type spring which operates the switch had broken. New ones are available from SNG and probably others, but it was a real bugger to fit. And that's after you remove the left side seat and the console to get at the switch, which is on the backside of the handbrake mechanism. Good for another 50 years now.

Also, not sure if the wiring is the same on all series, but the handbrake light also stays lit if the brake reservoirs are low on fluid (or if there are issues with the reservoir switches). I had already eliminated those as culprits when I checked out the handbrake switch itself.

Sadly I've already checked out the in switch and it's fine

The light is getting a feed from some other damn place and I can't find it.
Havi g a meld between two looms (XKE & XJS) made by the PO does not help. What's even more frustrating is that all was ok untill I rebuilt the front end....nothing close to the problem area.
