#1 Hi from Oxfordshire newbie

Post by Stuart Exelby » Sun Sep 22, 2013 9:55 am

Hello all - just a quick post to say hi - just joined the throng! Am already a Jaguar "nut" - with a Series 3 XJ6 and a late 240, now looking to add to the garage with a Series 1 Roadster. Am hoping for sanctuary here!

One early piece of advice, have seen a very good Series 1 car - which unfortunately started life as a Fixed Head, but has been converted to a Roadster. Looks to have been well done - but any advice would be welcome!

Welcome to the Forum!

A FHC > OTS would best be avoided unless it is really cheap as it will always carry that stigma no matter how much spin is put on it. Best find the genuine article. On the other hand a LHD > RHD conversion is usually considered perfectly acceptable as the androgynous bodies came down the production line and the steering wheel side was decided later in production so conversion back and forth is relatively easy. They fetch about 10% less than a true RHD car.

OK - guess I'd better confess - picked up the new baby yesterday - original OTS RHD '67 car. Will post some pics once I've worked out how!
