Hello everybody,

probably repeating an issue but I would like to know the pro and con for dipping compared to glas blasting.

My S1 is almost stripped and from inside it looks apart from one whole in the drivers floor fairly solid. paint and rest looks nice from inside, from outside it is partly fillered and naked metal which started corrosion.

My first idea was to dipp it, but then I feel sorry to ruin the inside which is all original and good, but on the other side, the surface corrosion and some filler on the outside should come off and get a nice paint from outside.

So basically I would only need the outside to paint, could do with some filler.

How much effort would it be to take off the filler and zinking it. Is it worth it?

I am here in Germany, a location where we have all facilities within 20 km, so not a big deal.

What are your experiences?

so, from what I can understand, dipping includes a time bomb.

Probably better to do it the traditional way,

But for some areas I would like to have the rust completly removed. Preferebly without grinding. Is there a liquid to apply?
