Hi everyone,
After "stalking" the forum for a couple of years and learning a lot, I finally bought the e type I had always wanted last year. I looked at quite a few cars but patience prevailed and I found the right car for me. A year on I am still over the moon with it! Have enjoyed using it and am beginning to get more confident for longer and longer journeys. The car is a very early '68 FHC with the closed headlight conversion. Full nut and bolt restoration with a few upgrades (electric fan, brake callipers, electronic ignition and of course the D type style wheels. Colour is (a not quite correct version of) Opalescent Silver Grey.

A big thank you to everyone who has posted - the information here is second to none and I have found it invaluable.

Here are a few pictures of my car:

Look forward to being able to contribute in the future.

Geoff.

Nice car indeed and glad you find the Forum useful. Good to see you put some decent tyres on the car - those 185 XVS's are superb on the E-Type and give you sublime handling and ride.

Very nice too ! I like the colour better than OSG. This one has a slight pink tinge to it on my screen ( akin to the same tinge in genuine Jaguar Gunmetal ) which warms up the rather cold OSG

Another Derbyshire E Type Fan, welcome Geoff :) Fabulous that red leather, I always think it looks so classy. I'm in Derbyshire (although not much as I move to uni on Sunday) but my friend Richard who owns the cars listed in my signature is. Drop me a line if you ever fancy a chat on all things e type.

Thanks gentlemen for your kind comments about the car. Looking forward to the good weather continuing (driest September since when?).

Hopefully I have just solved my in-car fuel flavoured air freshener.... A new cork gasket on the fuel tank cover plate assembly seems to have done the job - just waiting now.
