Hi, I'm 18 years old and I'm an apprentice classic car restorer. Have always wanted an e type since I was 8 years old and ever since have watched prices rise ! Obviously money is a big issue and by the time I could afford a reasonable project prices will most likely have risen much higher. So the plan is to start with an american import s3 shell and apply to it over many years. I don't currently have a shell but I'm in the market for one ( I've seen a few advertised on R.I Johnson's website) though a s3 front end and a frames and picture frame came up the right money through a customer at work so I have some of a car :) but I've always preferred the series 1 , so I was looking to make all s1 exterior conversions ( being as the car will have no service history, American import , non matching engine and every part from another car its never going to be worth a fortune so I might as well have it as I would like it as opposed to restoring it to how it once was ? ) just to upset purists further ... I have a rather radical modification I would like to make to an e type too ! As much as I love Coventry's design I always thought that wire wheels look too dated on such a modern looking , elegant body . so I would love to put a modern set of expensive ( not halfrauds toot! ) alloy wheels to it ! I know its rather childish but I would like to modernise it slightly . I gather this would more than likely require vast suspension changes etc which I would do providing the original suspension set up could still be applied once I've grown up a bit ;)
