#1 Another french one !

Post by Hub B » Tue Nov 18, 2014 10:39 pm

Dear Members,
Nice meeting you virtually.
What a great forum, full of passion !
I already spent hours on it...

Dreams come true !
I am the proud and happy owner of a S1 FHC 1963 LHD.
A barn find, near Paris, a full restoration started but stopped before completion 17 years ago.
Bodywork, engine, IRS done, just the fun left to do, wiring, pipes, rubbers, interior and exterior trim.
I've already restored a MK2 from a bare shell.
This time it's a new challenge, and I guess I'll be needing your advices soon...

All the best
H

From those pictures it looks like an amazing find. Congratulations!

I wonder what happened to the first owner 17 years ago since he didn't complete the final stage after so much effort. Never mind the missing trim, just put in some petrol and a battery, and go driving !

the previous owner is alive and well, but he lost the passion.
I guess paying bills for years and ending with a non runner is a good reason when you are not as crazy as we are.
To avoid that I'll follow your advice, jump in and go for a ride.
With no windscreen, no exhaust, better than the lightweight.
ooops I forgot ... there's no brakes either !
