Car insurance renewal time for the Colt, and I was surprised at my premium.

Always had my parents on the policy as they do drive the car from time to time, and it lowers the price a little.

Took my Dad off this time as according to my insurer “it’s more of a risk wth him on now, because you’re getting to that age where it doesn’t make a difference” - I left Mum on so there’s options mind you.

1.5 Diesel, 6 years NCB, license for nearly 7, 24 years old (nearly) , 8,000 miles a year, 360 Quid. Now less than a pound a day!

Almost at the supposed magic 25, when hopefully I’ll be able to get insurance for the Mazda ;)

I didn’t think that was too bad?

Love it Simon......bet your dad is really pleased that your insurance thinks he,s a big risk & would cost more if you put him on   ...Steve

Hi Steve, he will not like it one bit, especially as an ex-traffic Bobby with a class 1 advanced license - he does remind my sister and I that we “don’t know how to drive” from time to time, and that one day he will “teach us how to drive properly” !

Ignore Dad, and get yourself involved with your nearest IAM roadsmart group. Once you have your full membership, you’ll have another 15% off your insurance, and you’ll know how to drive properly. Them tell Dad.

As for the getting old thing, when you get really old, premiums start going up again.
