Hi Tony,

Did you really run up the US flag on your neighbor's pole? That's hilarious!!

I still haven't got to see the game having been on the field for 11 hours....and then needing to sleep for several more. I am in morning though. Thanks for the kinds words. I'll look forward to rooting for England over ze Germans tomorrow!

I do like coaching. I've been coaching for a long time. However it had been about four years since my last team. During that time AYSO formalized their coaching training requirements. They waived the requirements for me last Spring when I coached the Pasadena BU16 team as they were hurting for coaches. So I needed to get my credentialing caught up before the Fall season starts.

As to Jaguars: I would also recommend buying Peter Crespin's book: Jaguar E-type, the essential buyers guide!

The devil is always in the details....and nowhere more so than when buying an E-type. I'd have saved a lot of money, by buying a different one, if I'd had Peter's book when I bought my car. My car 'looked' great. Over the next two years I wound up paying more to rebuild my car than I paid to buy that 'perfect' specimen. Arrggghhhh....

It's brilliant now. I've taken several trips up to Canada. This August my son and I will drive out to Colorado to look at universities and then up to Yellowstone National Park. I drive 6-7,000 miles a year...all for fun. However it took a long time and a LOT of money to get there.

Fundamentally you can't know too much before buying.

That totally sucks that they hit you with VAT!!!!! US prices are typically a bit lower in dollars than yours are in pounds. Adding 20% to that closes the gap significantly.

Looking at the website I'd say that the Crevier cars are pretty pricey. As an aside: any time a car is painted 'resale' red I'd be cautious.

What do you want to buy? Will you be campaigning the car in concours? Will you take huge jaunts across Europe? Will you just take it out on sunny afternoons? (meaning twice a year in the UK;) Do you want to do all of the above?

Think hard about this stuff. You can pay a fortune to buy a car that has perfect plating and paint. However most trailer queens need to be towed from show to show. A few people I know have beautiful cars that they drive >100 miles to shows. You won't normally find those cars at dealers. Some people love to tour all over North America. Others race.

The bottom line is that taking a car from one state of condition to another can be a lot of work. So you might as well buy a car that's already being used to do whatever you are interested in. It will be way cheaper to buy it that way than to evolve it to that state.

The vast majority of e-types were sold in the US. The biggest advantage of buying over here is that you can be picky.

Best wishes!!

Yep,

The flag did go up the neighbours flag pole and stayed there until today when it was England's turn.

What a farce that match was. It must have been the worse defensive game I have seen. You could show it to kids on how not to play football.

The car I am after is to use say about 2500 miles per year in the summer (depending on weather). I am not interested in concours shows but do want a really nice looking car that I can drive in the summer without in braking down or rusting before my eyes.

As you say it is better pay up front rather than later as you start trying to get the car the way you wanted it in the first place.

The search goes on. The football get worse so lets look to the Formula 1 . Oh no, Vettle just won and guess where he is from?
