I had a long chat with Grant Williams at the Festival of Speed this year. He is a fantastic guy and is looking after the family heritage in a very generous fashion.

Rob Beere builds his engines and they make loads and loads of power. Then again each one costs 5 times as much as one of mine, however they are worth every penny.

They are loaded with all the goodies and are incredibly strong blocks. The rest of the car is well sorted too.

He also told me about his secret engine additive to which I am sworn to secrecy on pain of death.

Good luck to him at the Festival of Speed, we will be watching.
Its true, but Enzo never said it

Technically speaking, yes!

BUY 1 is now on a black BMW, presumably owned by Guildford BMW, who now own the old John Coombs dealership. I assume the Grant Williams car is not road legal or, if it is, it has to wear different plates on the road. The Coombs dealership registered several Jaguar cars as BUY 1, which included my own, as confirmed by the Heritage Certificate. My Series 3 was either the first or second demonstration Series 3 that Coombs had. There’s some evidence of an even earlier car owned and possibly used by Coombs as a demonstrator. Mine was registered on the day of Series 3 launch but built a few months earlier. So yes, I do own BUY 1!

There’s a photo on the Period and Glamour thread, showing what I believe is my car in 1971.

I’ve not tried doing doughnuts like that, however.
