#1 A funny thing happened to me..

...at my local Jaguar dealership spare parts section.

I'm building a 4.2 at the moment and genuine conrod bolts (I don't scrimp here) seem in short supply from the usuals.

I ordered some from my local Jaguar dealer and went to pick them up today. (there's a lot more to this story but I'll tell that later).

The guy who served me, about my age, asked what the rod bolts were for and I said they were for an E type. After he had printed out my invoice etc, as I was about to leave he said..I kid you not..

"What's an E type? Is that one of those long flat floored things?"
Andrew.

So not that old then, Andrew?

At least it wasn’t a millennial who would barely know a Jaguar older than the turn of this century.
Even more surprising is that you could go to a Jaguar dealership and still buy parts for a 4.2. It’d be fun to try that in a UK Jaguar dealership.

Geoff

PS, waiting for the rest of the story, thanks for making me smile
