#1 AVATAR QUESTION

Hi all,

Maybe a 'pub' question...

I am trying to upload my own avatar to my profile, I have re-sized it to less than 200 pixels x 200, file size is now less than 20kb, but keep getting the file too large warning? The message is suggesting the pixel size is too big, and it's not, any ideas??

Thanks, Steve.

What avatar are you trying to use as there is already one (diagram of the E-Type) displaying under your name?

The one I already use is one from the website?

Best regards,

Steve.

Hi Steve

Something weird going on with your photo as no matter which way I resize it the Forum still sees it as 800x 600 pixels. My guess is the metadata associated with the photo is over riding the new settings. I will look into it further and see if I can strip ou the metadata. I will get back to you.

Success! Try using this resized photo for your avatar (right mouse click photo and save to your device, edit your UCP with the new image).

Although you resized it correctly the original metadata remained saying you took the photo on 21 April and the size was 800x600, which confused the Forum software. Call me cynical but I wonder who mandated the original metadata should always be retained? :police:
