Did you know that Jo Siffert, the Swiss champion (died in Brands Hatch October 24th, 1971 at the age of 35) was the first pilot to shake and spray a bottle of Champagne on the fellow pilots and the public? It was June 11th 1967 at Le Mans when he won the Performance Index for the second time in a row as he had some difficulties opening the bottle. This was the beginning of a tradition.
In 1963-64 I was a kid living in Fribourg (Switzerland) and I had the chance to meet him a few times when my father had his car serviced in his garage but without really knowing he was such a great pilot.
