#1 Frozen Cows

After an extremely cold winters night, a Dairy Farmer decided to check on his herd of cows.
As he approached the field he could see that something was wrong as none of the cows were moving, they were just stood bolt upright.
As he got to the first cow, he discovered it was frozen solid! in a panic he rushed from cow to cow but every one was the same!
Devastated at the fate of his herd, and the potential loss of his livelyhood he sat down and began to cry.
Just then an old woman approached and said to him 'Don't worry son, I'll take care of this for you'
With that, she went up to the nearest cow and began gently stroking its nose and talking to it in hushed tones.
To the utter disbelief of the farmer the cow began to thaw and within a few seconds, it was running round the field as though nothing had happened!
The old woman then went to each cow in turn and repeated her magic. Soon, the entire herd was back to normal.
The Farmer was astounded and asked the old woman if there was anything he could do for her in return, to which she just smiled and walked quietly away.
The Farmer, still shaken, watched her disappear into the distance, when he became aware of another woman walking toward him across the field.
'I saw the whole thing' she said, 'It was amazing'
'Do you know who that was?' She asked the Farmer
The Farmer just shook his head.
'Thora Hird' said the woman..................
