#1 E Type CAD model?
I have just completed my Siemens NX11 CAD update training and was wondering about the availability of CAD data for E Type parts. I know that the likes of Dennis Welch are creating solid model CAD data of certain parts and are designing new upgrades in 3D CAD. Also, Jaguar have recently 3D scanned some body panels to recreate the press tooling to make new panels. I doubt very much of either of these would share their data but wondered if it would be possible to create a CAD model of a full car as a community project. There is an E Type model on GrabCAD but it is just exterior surfaces and not very accurate.

Interesting question. I wonder what your objective is in asking such a question?
I have been using CAD for many years now, being a mechanical engineer, but have no real need of E Type CAD data. This, despite having designed several E Type related parts and products.
Regards

My objective in asking the question was to see how interesting it was to other forum members. Not very interesting by the looks of this thread! In reality I don't suppose CAD data would be of any use for 99.9% of parts on the E Type unless you need to manufacture them from scratch. It would mean that certain plastic parts could be 3D printed and even some metal parts could be sintered.

There's a 3D model of an S1 OTS available for fellow SolidWorks users here:

You should be able to spin the model about in the 'Preview 3D' box by holding down your left mouse button.
The back axle etc. needs a bit of a rework though.

Hi is anyone able to create cad data for the outer bodywork of a roadster. We need cad such as step or igs files and not mesh files. We are happy to pay for such files. Thank you

I can sort that out. It's part of what I do for a living.
PM me with details of what you're trying to achieve and I'll see what we can do to make it happen.
