Any resemblance to a real Jag is purely coincidental😂

CEO says car will launch sometime in 2026, with the other two models launching a couple of years later. The platform will be unique to Jaguar and not shared with Land Rover products.

Reminds me of MG who sold to China with no current models and only the brand and concept to offer, which is exactly what the Chinese wanted. .

Jaguar will rise again much as MG and Lotus have under new ownership.

I do see some resemblance to the E-type coupe (mostly in the long hood (bonnet)). Apparently, I was not the only one. Also reminded me a bit of the Rolls Royce Spectre. See the article in the attached link.

Harry is quite kind...
I don't see any future for that concept, except for going to the casino in Monte Carlo.
And no way it could be made luxurious, driveable and sold for 120.000 USD

Well it has certainly got the name Jaguar out in the press, online and all forms of media. Was that the aim of the awful androgynous creatures in the ad? Make a stir, show a concept car which, like all modern concept cars, is never going to be roadworthy. Then maybe make something vaguely like it that can be driven?

As for finding similarities with older Jaguars, E Type or whichever. Well it’s got four wheels, so it has similarity with a Model T Ford.

The days of quickly and relatively inexpensively constructing a roadworthy prototype such as the XK120 and E Type are long gone.

Ah well I shall not be rushing to find a showroom to put down a deposit based on the concept.

Yes, if you cut out the lower third of the 00 you get a similarity to the E lines.

"copy nothing" actually closer to that than to an E-Type:

"Copy Nothing" - but do take the time to check what others have been getting up to first:

(Came out over a year ago, and no, we Lancisiti aren't exactly forming an orderly queue either - although I do think there's more deign intrigue there than in the jaGuar.)

Sorry to bring back to the spinners but what is the correct/original design? Was it changed by the repro to stop copyright issues?

Cheers

It was changed because the company making the repro's were lazy and clueless. More info here: viewtopic.php?p=36206#p36206

There is so much rubbish appearing on the internet about new Jaguar models with AI generated images which begs the question what is believable and what is not :-

Image

My art loving wife told me she saw a video this week of some chap on a stage at a US Art show, but his strange flowery words were apparently talking about the future directions in his company’s car designs and intended markets. Cars with rear seats sitting on stonework and unfinished brass fittings designed to change in colour and smell as they age. There were two strange shapes on stage in blue and believe it or not - pink. Today she continued with the art theme to tell me the Turner Prize for 2024 has been won for a Ford Escort with a giant doily placed over it. These art people really know their stuff !

But seriously though - this initial post title has deviated from the initial comments of the new Jaguar font and logos and now apparently the new direction of Jaguar design has been revealed, perhaps we should start a dedicated post just on that subject ?
Cheers,
Dave
