.. always appear on Christmas eve. Tradition :santa:

Also it is always a Merry Christmas (referencing imbibing alcohol and being of good cheer) and a Happy New Year referencing hopes for the future. 'Happy Holidays' is just so wrong on so many levels

So when His Majesty wishes us a Happy Christmas at the end of his Christmas Day broadcast (just like his mother always did) will you be throwing surplus mince pies at the TV in complaint at his (and her) incorrect greeting?

Though very much in agreement with the awful term “happy holidays” :banghead:

Bah! Humbug! :santa:

Used singularly 'Happy Christmas' is not a problem but when used in the phrase "Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year" then it is so wrong. Be happy but get pissed for the rest of the year rather than the other way around.

Another one that offends is the phrase, mostly used by politicians, "It's not rocket science". Indeed it is not , as rockets are products of engineering not science :banghead: See Space X.
