I bought a pair of Nankangs for my Mk2 and put them on the rear.
Had fairly worn Michelins on the front.
Grip levels of the Nankang not as good as the modern 185/R15 Michelin or Dunlops, which is not unreasonable as half the price.

On the upside, there’s the price, and they allows a little more tail out action which is fun.
If you have the dollars for the Michelins or Dunlops they are better.
Better grip, shorter stopping distance.
If you don’t have the dollars, then these are a grea speed rated H alternative.

I've got them on an E Type coupe and I really like them.

Mind you I don't drive fast, or in the wet.

Have you seen this test?

https://www.longstone.com/images/tire-t ... -final.pdf

it just shows how much better the classic Pirelli classic tyres are than everything else, When you add up the totals the P5 should have got a 1.2 instead of a 2.1. It is a shame they did the wrong size tyre as well really.
