Electric power steering
#21 Re: Electric power steering
Hi, very interesting points about power steering. I'm also considering the conversion. At some point, my car's steering system was converted from Series 1 to Series 2. For originality reasons, I want to revert to Series 1. Is that possible? Does anyone know?

I think that the easy steer system removes the collapsible section of the column and the associated bracket and replaces this with a series 1 type. The horn is still on the indicator stalk but maybe this could also be modified

There is no need for power steering if you fit the right size tyre.
the reason so many cars have their charisma diminished by fitting power steering is because they had the wrong size tyres on them in the first place. anyone who has fitted power steering and likes it; as what size tyres you had on before?
those who dont have it and fit a nice period 185VR15 either Cinturato CA67 or Michelin XVS will find if they fit powersteerin thne they loose the feel of the steering. it is an unnesecary modification used to overcome a missguided modification. people say they like the look of the fatter tyre then have to fit power stteering to overcome the unfortunate effects of the ovr size tyres.
