#1 SNG fuel injection

Post by Bitsilly » Mon Jun 29, 2026 7:54 am

Can I ask has anyone else ordered the fuel injection kit from SNG?
I have just fitted it to a series 2 which had had twin Strombergs and I am beginning to think that I am the only person who has bought the kit.
Cheers

More importantly can you give us a review of the product to help anyone else who wants to follow in your path!

Yes of course but it’s a work in progress including a full car renewal, so I’ll need a while.

Well it is all in. The process complicated by all the other work needing doing on my car.
Initial observations on the installation are it is quite easy but the instructions are in need of updating. There are a couple of errors and mix ups due to updates etc. I’ll be feeding this back to my SNG contact when I’m finished, for now he is aware.
It is advised to weld in the exhaust sensors at a 10 degree angle to stop water sitting on them. On my car this means one is hard up against the sump bottom.
I am a little peeved that having spent so much I had to pay extra for a sensor and drill the manifold as the system needs this to work on sequential fueling.
Finally I have the time to write this as I have had to order a special dtafast ECU data cable in order to program the system. Again, a £35 extra expense with no reason not to include it, it is essential.

Also, as is noted on another thread, SNG say you have to fit a sponge air filter, some dismantling is necessary for this and the backing plate reduces access to things needing doing behind it. And you guessed it, they aren’t included in the all inclusive package.
