Not sure you would get the jack and cross beam under an E-Type.

I've use twice a palett truck, and this seems to me an interesting alternate solution.
I've olso used it to remove a second IRS edgeways.

what type of jack do you normally casrry in case of punctures and where is the prefered jacking point front and back

Still under restoration so I will have to wait and see re punctures but I suspect the standard jack will suffice. As for jacking in the work shop with all cars I prefer to jack under a suspension mount where possible as these are designed to carry the weight of the car. Uryk at etype fabs provided me with a rather nice piece of hard wood cut to fit the front frame, not used it yet as it seems a shame to get it dirty.
