That looks like an expensive little project. It will be interesting to see if it retains the essential lines of the S1 OTS.
I've seen a S1 2+2 converted into an OTS, which looked fine from most angles, but too long and narrow from a threequarter view. The chop only seems to work with the widened stance of the S3.
I wouldn't worry about the rarity of the car yet as the writer seems to.

CMC have done something similar before. They showed me an OTS that had an enlarged boot space so the owner could carry more luggage, an element of which is carried over to this car. Until is was pointed out to me I did not notice the 'extension' to the boot floor pan.

This " Jagwar " S3 fhc has been shortened to swb and much more, a twist on the theme and also probably exspensive .Good to see the conversion explained on video though.
