#1 E ..... lad, that were good!
Went to see Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band last night at a packed Wembley Stadium where they played non stop for 3 hours and 20 minutes. I have seen lots of bands in my time (Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Who, Small Faces, 10CC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, King Crimson, Wishbone Ash etc etc) but The Boss blew them all into the weeds. The best concert I have ever been to and Stadium Rock at its finest. In a bit of Serendipity they are playing in Coventry this coming Thursday so buy yourself some tickets (regardless of price) - don't bother with seats as you will be standing, dancing, shouting, waving and singing along for the full 200 minutes. He is the same age as me yet I was totally knackered after just watching him perform yet he was relentless, no breaks, no chit-chat just singing and playing 31 songs- the ultimate showman who clearly was enjoying himself as much as the rest of us. And the E Street Band are well named, they produce a glorious roar of sound that puts a huge smile on your face. Unmissable!

David and Graham,
I have tickets booked for Thursday in Coventry, love his music, but have never seen him play live. I am now more excited having read your posts and the Telegraph review.

Hi David,
'Twas all good in its day, David, I think you've been following me around for the last 50 years,(E-types, guns, and vinyl records.....) a heavy dose of the Stones and Chuck Berry (before your time....?) live at the Glasgow Odeon, prior to me getting my first E-Type brand new (Series ll November 1969 model) a t the age of 24, hey hey , how many of us got that lucky..... ? Still reckon "Sounds of Silence" is the greatest song ever written, but Status Quo's "Paper Plane" is unequalled, by Springsteen or whomsoever............Still have my Fender Precision Bass from the Sixties, it paid for my first E-Type.....will never part with it........
regards to all........
Norman

I like very much the music of the stones and saw them three times in Frankfurt. But the best "performer" for me was Chuck Berry, seen in 1973 also in Frankfurt.
