Should never come to that. Web hosting company was hacked and took down all their sites including ours. Next job will be to move hosting company.

I'm glad to see that we're up and running again. Thank you, David, for your efforts to keep this valuable resource available. I know that these problems are very frustrating for you. You should demand a pay raise the next time that your contract comes due!

Thanks to all for working so hard to get the forum back up.
Unfortunately hacking is so prevelant, not rocket science to reduce the chances of intrusion, nothing is guaranteed..I see it all of the time. The defences are all well known and good practice..However, the key is to have an effective backup / roll back strategy and capability. That is what the hosting company should have.
No fault of you guys, you have done a sterling job...but happy to advise on potential hosting company architecture security/ operational process..if I dont know then I know lots of peeps who do .
Thanks again...glad to see that my daily fix is now back

I was so afraid to not have anymore our cherished database.😂
Thank you to all the ones who have worked to recover it.

Thank goodness we're back up and running. I for one do not have the chance to tinker with the real thing very often and so I enjoy reading of everyone else's experiences and adventures, and contribute where I can. An invaluable resource, let's hope we get everything sorted for good soon.

I like the new format, very much the same as the old one which is why I like it. Well done for all the hard work.

Well done David, I liked the old format and this is not dissimilar.

The old style is still available if you want it - select subsilver2 in your Control Panel - however it won't be supported with design changes and has problems when trying to display on mobiles and tablets.

I am finding every time that I go to the forum (usually once / twice a day) from my desktop I have to log in despite the fact that I tick the box to stay logged in all the time ? - why is that ?
Is there some sort of auto log out that demands this after a set number of hours logged in, or am I guilty of user error ?
Have cleared the cashe several times but still can't resolve this one since we moved.
