Hit it with your hammer Carsten. (New forum, same old joke)

Another big thanks from me David for all your hard work.

I visit this forum every day and it is an invaluable source of information.

I am glad you mentioned the ability to change the style options though; I didn't want to be negative, but I didn't like the Prosilver.
I have changed it to we-universal, which is better for me.

Thanks again,
Paul

Kept bouncing my choice of avatar pic from this iPhone but will try smaller files from laptop.

The auto-sizing feature for smartphones is great but the only thing I miss is that when the old index came up you could see the timing of the last post and therefore knew whether anything new had appeared since last checking. It seems that without this facility I will now routinely have to open several lists just to find there's nothing new to read? Can you put a 'last post' sate/time indicator alongside each list in the main index, like before?

Seems the new software didn't like the Umlaut on 'UeberLynx' either, but that's minor.

Carsten

If you are using we_universal the 'Unread Posts' link is at the top of the page.

Pete

There is a BBCode script to allow Umlauts (and one for fractions as well IIRC) somewhere. I will see if I can find them and switch them on.

Any new posts should light up the red icon to the left of the title so no need to look at dates. Or you could do what Carsten does - look at 'unread posts'. If you have colour blindness issues I will need to check on a solution. Not tried uploading an Avatar myself but several other people have just done so; they need to be no more than 50k in size and up to 200x200 pixels.

Many thanks to David and Marcus for all your hard work getting the forum safe for good. I appear to have been caught napping with the new format but then had a busy few days. Unfortunately you will have to try harder to get rid of me

You can ask Jill; seems I have spent "too much time this weekend"
"playing on the Forum" ( she is from Yorkshire so that is not quite word for word what she said) when I could have been mowing lawns or some such. I blamed you!

Laying the blame on the "yoof"... never seen that being done before  . Should I be a little concerned on 10th July or will she have calmed down by then? More to the point, you'd best have mowed the lawn by then!

Hmm missed the message that the forum was moving but learnt about it from another forum - been trying for days to log into the old one.

Now that I am here it looks good.

PS how do I mark all posts as "read" - thanks
